Adrian Davis rushed for 211 yards and three touchdowns, each of double digit length, but as importantly were his carries in the fourth quarter which allowed Jemison to possess the ball and not give Saint James a chance to complete a three touchdown comeback as the Panthers defeated the Trojans in their first ever football meeting, 19 - 14.

After an endzone kickoff, the Panthers picked up a first down but a dead ball personal foul penalty erased the yardage gained.  After a fumbled snap and several incomplete passes, a short punt gave the Trojans great field position at the Jemison 37.  A false start slowed their drive, and on fourth down from the 38, Michael Hassell tossed an interception to Myles Kidd who returned the ball to the 40 yard line.  Two plays later, Jemison had a lead.  Caleb Lucas rushed for 15 on first down and the Davis broke away from the defense on the next carry for a 45 yard touchdown.  Quarterback Leland Burnett was also the place kicker, and he converted the first attempt for a 7 - 0 Panther lead.

Jemison exercised a beautiful onside kick, bouncing off a Saint James upman and recovered immediately by a Panther.  However, three plays later, a Burnett pass was intercepted by Brannen Stewart and Saint James had first down on their own 19.  Again the Trojans could not convert a first down and Jemison started their next possession on the Trojan 42.  The Panthers overcame two penalties, and picked up 23 yards on a third and 25 pass which led to a Davis first down run on the next play.  Lucas made a carry of 18 yards down to the Trojan 14, and two plays later Davis scored his second touchdown from 11 yards out.  The extra point failed, but Jemison was up 13 - 0 in the first quarter.

Saint James finally picked up their initial first down on the last play of the first quarter, and appeared to be having a productive drive .  Wilson Aman caught a pass and carried himself twice from a shotgun stance.  The Panther defense held and forced a Trojan field goal from 24 yards, which was wide left.

The Panthers held the ball almost the entire remainder of the second half.  A key holding penalty in the redzone likely prevented another Panther score, and a fourth down pass from the Trojan 15 went incomplete with 6 seconds remaining and a 13 point margin was maintained.

Saint James went three and out on its opening second half drive, and it took only two plays for Jemison to strike.  Carson Hyde rushed for three yards on first down, and then Davis broke through the middle and ran away from potential tacklers for a 70 yard touchdown gallop.  The extra point failed, but the lead was now a three score margin at 19 - 0.

After fielding a short Panther kickoff, Saint James could again not convert a first down but pinned the Panthers deep with a punt at their own 6.  The Trojan defense tightened as three plays netted a minus four yards and pressure on the punter resulted in only a 13 yard punt and a very short field.  The 15 yard scoring drive started with a 7 yard loss on first down and a holding penalty on second down.  However, from the 32, Hassell found Benton Offord deep over the middle for the first Trojan touchdown pass of the season.  Justin van Giessel's extra point suddenly had the Trojans sidelines cheering as the lead was cut to 19 - 7.

Saint James appeared to be on the way to scoring again after a Panther three and out.  A 35 yard pass from Hassell to Wilson Aman gave the Trojans first and goal at the 9.  A defensive pass interference penalty followed by a defensive holding penalty pushed the ball down to the 2.  However, disaster struck on the next play as a handoff attempt failed miserably, and Jemison recovered the ensuing fumble at the 15 yard line as time was running out in the third quarter.

Another short punt gave the Trojans first down at the Panther 47.  A 16 yard pass on first down to Jordan Williams moved the ball to the 31.  After a Hartley first down run, Aman caught a 13 yard pass down to the Jemison 6.  On fourth down, Hassell tossed a pass to Williams who made an extreme effort to hold the ball over the goal line before being pushed out of bounds, and he was rewarded with a touchdown.  The extra point cut the lead to 5 with still over half of the final quarter remaining.

However, primarily due to the running of Davis, Jemison never relinquished the ball for the remainder of the game, eating up clock and spitting out Trojan timeouts as the Panthers evened their record at 1 - 1 for the season.  Saint James dropped to 0 - 2, and looked forward to its first ever region game in Private School Class A - traveling to Troy to meet another first time football opponent - the Pike Liberal Arts Patriots.
