Highlights:
The St. James defense played the first two-thirds of
the game with abandon, stifling the Trinity offense, holding a halftime
lead after a
Jeff Stevenson touchdown run on the first play of the second
quarter.
However, the Wildcats scored three times in less than
8 minutes on three consecutive drives after a fumbled punt snap
recovered by Trinity's Price Bishop gave them the ball on the Trojan 3
to set up the series of
Wildcat scores. Will Marks scored the initial touchdown, and
Tanner Grant caught a two point conversion pass. Craig Murray
added a field goal, and Frank Pass scored the final Trinity touchdown
with a 6 yard run.
Mark Kitchens led the Trojans in rushing, but was
held to only 52 yards on 15 carries. Stevenson's fourth quarter
touchdown cut the lead to one possession, but the Trojans never
threatened thereafter.
