Saint James held the South Macon Wolverines basically in check as they won their sixth consecutive game over two seasons with a 17 - 6 road victory to start the 1984 campaign.  Ben Gross tossed two touchdown passes in the first quarter, one each to Andy Johnson and Jody Ortega.  Johnson added the extra point after his touchdown, and after a penalty on the second extra point, Johnny Redding connected for a two point run.  Scott Polke also sacked Wolverine quarterback Chris Weldon in the endzone in the third quarter for a safety.  Weldon had connected with Chris Wright late in the second quarter for South Macon's only score of the ballgame.
