In a game which became an intense defensive struggle after an early Trojan touchdown pass, Mark Fowler added a touchdown midway through the fourth quarter just before Marion Military Institute quickly struck back and ended the Trojans' fantastic 15 quarter scoreless streak.  However, Marion could not get the ball back for another attempt to score late.  Mike Beavers was the leading rusher in a game where yardage was premium with 46 yards on 7 carries.
