Vic Vickery ran for 56 yards on 17 carries and added a pair of touchdowns as the Trojans opened up the 1978 season on a winning note.  Fred Brown added a touchdown pass to Robert Kelly and his own score on a quarterback sneak as well.  The kickers on both sides didn't have such a great evening, especially in the extra point department.  Sandy Andrews had 10 individual tackles to lead the defense.
