November 15, 1974.

The Trojans finished their season against a strong
Westminster Christian team.  Hal Hearn rushed for 106 yards on 12 carries with two touchdowns to lead the Westminster offense, and the defense intercepted four passes, one in each quarter, to end Trojan drives.   Alan Spear did pass for 144 yards, completing 12 of his 28 attempts, including a three yard touchdown to Bud Winn in the final quarter of the season.

St. James received full membership in the Alabama High School Athletic Association during the season, and 1975 would mark their first year where they would be state-playoff eligible.
