Trinity's Hall, Mannsman highlight all-CCC baseball team

The Auburn signee, pitching for the first time in three years, helped the Wildcats reach the Class 4A quarterfinals and was selected by the Capital City Conference coaches as its player of the year.

Hall was a pitcher and shortstop for the Wildcats in their run to a state championship in 2022, but missed 2023 with a bone spur in his right elbow and was limited to serving as the designated hitter in 2024 -- hitting .368 (39 for 106) with five home runs, 16 doubles and 35 RBIs -- after being sidelined with a stress fracture in his right arm and elbow.

“Last year, he had a lot of power and a lot of pop but was mainly a pull-side guy,” Mannsman said. “In the offseason, we spoke to him and he really worked on backside. He really developed to be a complete hitter for us. He’s one of the key guys in my short career that I’ve given the green light to on a 3-0 (pitch) because you never know what’s going to happen.”

Hall hit a team-best .479 (45 for 94) at the plate with 16 doubles, four triples, six home runs and 44 RBIs. 

On the mound, pitching for the first time in two years, he was 2-2 in eight appearances with a 3.50 earned run average, striking out 31 and walking 23 in 30 innings of work.

The Wildcats ended the season as one of the best teams in Class 4A after a shaky start. CCC coaches were impressed with Mannsman’s ability to turn the season into a successful one and voted the first-year coach as the coach of the year.

“At the beginning, after the FCA Tournament, we were 2-5 with 70 strikeouts in seven games,” Mannsman said. “We were on pace to strike out 300 times, which is probably a world record. We just went back to the little things at practice. I felt like our guys had a chance to be really good but were putting a lot of pressure on themselves to be good at the beginning. On the strikeout side, after 35 games, we were at 164 strikeouts. They did a really good job of responding after a very slow start.”

This is the third time 2024 Player of the Year Tabor Offord of Saint James and 2025 Player of the Year Fleming Hall of Trinity were selected to the team. Offord made the team in 2023 and 2024, while Hall made the team in 2022 and 2024.

Charlie Cutler of Saint James and Xavier Boswell of Trinity are repeat selections after making the team in 2024. A unique feature of the 2025 team is the selection of five freshmen to the team -- Alabama Christian second baseman Teilan Long, Montgomery Academy shortstop Reid McBride, Catholic third baseman Ethan Levanda, Trinity pitcher Patton Mitchell and Montgomery Academy’s Vincent Desautels, who was selected to the team as a utility player after playing outfield, first base and pitcher for the Eagles.
