For school years
2026-27 and 2027-28, the AHSAA has revamped their
classifications.
For public schools, class 7A has been dropped and they
will compete in areas/regions among themselves in
classes 1A through 6A.
For private schools, two new classes (Private School
Class I and Private School Class II) have been
created.
The competitive balance factor will no longer be in
effect starting with the Fall 2026 Sports.
Teams in each class will compete in areas/regions, and
championships, in those two classes.
SAINT JAMES has been assigned to classification
Private School Class I.
