SAINT JAMES VARSITY SPORTS ALIGNMENTS

MOST RECENT ADJUSTMENTS:  Saturday, November 12, 2016  7:45 PM CST



SAINT JAMES remains in classification 4A during school years 2016-17 and 2017-18 as designated in January 2016 by the AHSAA.

 For complete alignments of all schools in classifications 1A to 7A, check the individual sports located at the ahsaa.com website.


Below are the teams which will be aligned with the Trojans in the various varsity sports.
Junior Varsity and Middle School teams primarily, but not exclusively, compete against other Capital City Conference foes.
These alignments are, as always, subject to change at any time by the AHSAA.


 
FOOTBALL

(2017)  SAINT JAMES will again participate in 4A Region 2.
Also returning:  Alabama Christian, Ashford, Bullock County, Catholic, Dale County, and Trinity


  BASKETBALL

(2016-17 and 2017-18)  SAINT JAMES will again participate in 4A Area 4.
Catholic, LAMP, and Trinity will also remain in 4A Area 4.
The only change will be the addition of BTW-Montgomery and the removal of Bullock County.

These changes will make this one of the few FIVE team areas in the state (and the only one in class 4A).


BASEBALL

(2017 and 2018)   SAINT JAMES will again participate in 4A Area 4.
Catholic, LAMP, and Trinity will also remain in 4A Area 4.
The only change will be the addition of Alabama Christian, which drops from 5A.

These changes will make this one of the few FIVE team areas in the state (and the only one in class 4A).

CHEERLEADING

   Cheerleading teams are not subject to Area or Region alignment.


 CROSS COUNTRY

(2017)  SAINT JAMES will again partcipate in 4A Section 1.
Other sectional teams will include Alabama Christian, Andalusia, BTW-Montgomery,
Catholic, Elmore County, Holtville, LAMP, Satsuma, Tallassee, Trinity, and UMS-Wright

Baker High School in Mobile will host the 4A Section 1 Sectional Meets at Mobile's Langan Park.

GOLF

(2017 and 2018)  SAINT JAMES will again participate in 4A Section 1.
Other sectional teams will include Alabama Christian, Andalusia, Catholic, Escambia County, LAMP,
Monroe County, Satsuma, Thomasville, Trinity, UMS-Wright, and W.S. Neal

2017 Sectional Golf Tournament will be held at the Country Club of Mobile.

SOCCER

(2017 and 2018)  SAINT JAMES (Boys and Girls) will move to 4A-5A Section 3.
They will be joined by Brewbaker Tech, Catholic, Charles Henderson, and Greenville  (boys only).

SOFTBALL

(2017 and 2018)  SAINT JAMES will again participate in 4A Area 4.
Catholic, LAMP, and Trinity will return, and Alabama Christian (dropping from 5A) will be added.

These changes will make this one of the few FIVE team areas in the state  (and the only one in class 4A).

SWIMMING

No Saint James student participated in the 2015 meet.


TENNIS

(2017 and 2018)  SAINT JAMES will remain in 4A-5A Section 2
They will be joined by Brewbaker Tech, BTW-Montgomery, Carroll, Catholic, Charles Henderson, and Eufaula.


TRACK and FIELD

(2017 and 2018)  SAINT JAMES will again participate in 4A Section 1:  Saint James will be joined by
Alabama Christian, Andalusia, BTW-Magnet, Catholic, Dale County, Escambia County,
 LAMP, Monroe County, Satsuma, Thomasville, Trinity, and UMS-Wright

The 2017 Sectional Track Meet will be held at Montgomery Academy.

VOLLEYBALL

(2017)  SAINT JAMES will again participate in 4A Area 4.
They will be joined by Alabama Christian, Catholic, LAMP, and Trinity.

These changes make this one of the few FIVE team areas in the state  (and the only one in class 4A).
WRESTLING

(2016-17 and 2017-18)  For the first time in wrestling, Saint James will be part of 1A-5A Region 1 for Wrestling Duals.
Instead of two large sections, classifications will be broken up into eight smaller regions for dual tournaments.
These dual tournaments will precede the standard State Super Region and State Tournaments.
Other teams included in Region 1 will be Beauregard, Beulah, Catholic, Elmore County, Holtville,and Tallassee.
There are 18 other teams (total of 25) competing in 2016-17 in the South Section.
